COOPERATION PARTNERS OF HOLIDAYS FOR THE SEA
The Urlaub fürs Meer project was developed by the Schleswig-Holstein government in 2021 and is committed to more sustainable tourism in Schleswig-Holstein. Together with tourism organisations and local authorities, landlords of holiday accommodation are invited to encourage their holiday guests to adopt low-packaging and more sea-friendly behaviour. Together with Ferienparadies Grube, we received advice and certification in 2022 and have been a partner for more sustainable tourism in Ostholstein ever since.
Because the preservation of our ecosystem is also important to us and has motivated us to tackle and implement the topic within the scope of our possibilities. We will certainly continue to learn and rethink ritualised everyday practices in the future and are also happy to receive your suggestions for improving our practices.
Our measures for greater sustainability cover the areas of equipment, construction & renovation, energy, mobility, waste & recycling and water. We would like to briefly introduce these to you:
EQUIPMENT
- Practical reusable products for guests
- Beach ashtray
- Tips for sea-friendly, possibly unpackaged shopping on site
- Reduce plastic items in the household and replace them with alternatives made of wood, glass or stainless steel
- Sea-friendly cleaning agents and washing-up liquid

BUILD & RENOVATE

WASTE & RECYCLING
- Switching to digital communication
- Toilet paper, kitchen towel made from recycled paper
- Washable towels, tablecloths & bed linen made from pure cotton

- Reduction of plastic waste in the accommodation through reusable products

WATER
- Flow restrictors (aerators) in washbasins and showers
- Cisterns with flush-stop function
- No use of toxic sprays (pesticides) in the garden
- Use of rainwater for watering the garden
- Equipment with reusable bottles, carafes
- Use of biodegradable, non-antibacterial washing-up liquid and cleaning agents without microplastics
